Hearing impairment is not a visible disability; hence the efforts on improving the lot of
those suffering from it is far less than those suffering with other set backs. It can also be easily overcome with medical assistance and latest advances in the scientific field. There are over 5 million deaf in India and 25 million deaf all over the world. In our country alone, there are 21000 babies born deaf every year.
